Milk production registration (MPR) is the analysis of milk samples collected from individual lactating animals on a farm. MPR is typically performed at regular intervals, usually every 3 to 6 weeks. The results provide information on fat, protein, lactose, urea, ketosis indicators, and somatic cell count.
These results provide dairy farmers with objective data to support management decisions. In addition, MPR data can be used for ration formulation, breeding strategies, and production planning.
Milk sampling and laboratory analysis are performed in accordance with the guidelines of the International Committee for Animal Recording (ICAR).
The test day results message contains the results of individual milk sample analyses. Historical milk recording results can be retrieved using date-based filters.
What data is included?
For each animal, this message provides the following milk sample analysis results:
The test day statistics message contains the data from the Milk Recording (MPR) Herd Summary report. These are herd-level statistics calculated from individual milk sample analyses.
What data is included?
For each test day, a range of statistics is available. These statistics are calculated for specific groups (for example by lactation number or days in milk) as well as for the herd as a whole.
Examples of available statistics include:
A detailed explanation of all available statistics and their interpretation can be found in the MPR Herd Summary documentation.
