The farmer decides with whom they share their data, that’s something Farm21 and JoinData are in complete agreement on. Farm21 underlines this by connecting to the JoinData platform. Farm21 is an innovative player within the sector that enables farmers to make the best possible agricultural decisions, based on data from sensors. Farm21’s sensors are 8 to 30 times more affordable than comparable products. This enables the farmer to measure with a very high data density.
The sensors measure critical values for the crop and are easy to install for anyone. The data from the field is also enriched with external sources such as weather, crop, soil and satellite data to give the most complete picture possible of the current situation and, ultimately, also of the future.
The data from the sensors are of course interesting for the farmer, but also for other parties. Making data available via JoinData is therefore a conscious choice for Farm21. Data is only shared through JoinData if there is an authorization from the farmer, and that authorization is visible through the My JoinData portal. Every farmer can manage their own authorizations there. The authorizations can be approved there and also revoked.
