“With JoinData, I decide who has my data and who doesn’t”
Mathé van den Bosch is a dairy farmer in Oudenbosch. He milks 330 dairy cows with 5 robots. He advocates the use and sharing of data. He has been working with JoinData for one year now. “Using data for your own business helps you move forward. That data was also being shared before JoinData came along, but you had separate permissions and no overview of who had what data. JoinData gives me insight into which entities have my data.”
The dairy farmer is in favor of digitization. “In today’s dairy farming, the administrative side of your business takes up an increasing proportion of your work. For government, dairy, etc. you have to keep track of more and more things. That’s a good thing in itself, but I do want to be in control of it. Making everything digital is handy, but also dangerous. Because you don’t know who’s watching. Now, I control that security myself. I decide who is and isn’t watching.”
“You don’t have to be an automation farmer.”
“I’m a farmer who automates a lot. We had a milking robot 20 years ago. But you don’t have to be an automation farmer to benefit from JoinData. For example, I switched to a different feed supplier. Within JoinData I can then give one feed supplier access to my data with a check mark and remove the previous supplier’s access.”
Easy working
The dairy farmer finds working with JoinData easy. “The dashboard looks practical and logical. You don’t need a manual.” And he sees opportunities for the future: “It would be nice if the breeding values of the cows could be included in the robot program. Currently, I often have several tabs open on my computer. The more we can combine, the better.”
